Adeleke urges supporters to pray ahead final verdict
Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 22, 2018, governorship election, has pleaded with his supporters to be prayerfully ahead of the ruling by the Supreme Court. Adeleke also urged the supporters to go about their activities in peace.
This admonition is contained in a statement issued by Adeleke’s media consultant, Olumide Lawal.
The statement called Adeleke a man of peace who would want his supporters to remain calm and hold the progress of Osun state dear to their hearts.
The Nation reports that Adeleke expressed hope that the verdict of the Supreme Court would swing in his favour. Promising not to disappoint the people of the state if eventually confirmed the governor, he said he was relying on the grace of God ahead of the July 5, verdict of the Supreme Court.
He urged the supporters not to be provoked by whatever those against him say or do. To him, such utterances have prepared him for the current situation.
“This has prepared me solidly for the task of serving humanity without bias, ill-wind or grudge towards anybody as a God-fearing man, brought up in total humility and milk of human kindness in his veins to serve the less-privileged and physically disadvantaged people in the society,” he said
Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had been declared winner of the Osun election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
